A, B and C can do a job in 6 days, 12 days and 15 days respectively. After 1/8 of the work is complete, C leaves the job. Rest of the work is done by A and B together. Time taken to finish the work is

    Answer: (3) 7/2 days
    Explanation:-
    A can do a job =  6 days.
    B can do the same job = 12 days.
    C can do the same job = 15 days.
    1/8 of the work is complete.
    Then, remaining work = 1 – 1/8 = 7/8
    A and B can work in a day = 1/6 + 1/12
    = (2 + 1)/12 = 3/12 = 1/4
    Therefore, A and B can complete the work = 4 days.
    Remaining work can complete the work by A and B = 7 x 4/8 = 7/2 days.
    Hence, the answer is (3) 7/2 days.
