A cyclist has to cover a distance of 80 km in 10 hrs. If he covers half journey in 3/5th time. What should be his speed to cover the remaining distance in the time left?

  2. 12 km per hour
  3. 10 km hour

    Answer: (3) 10 km per hour 

    Solution:-
    A cyclist has to cover a distance of 80 km = 10 hrs. 

    If he covers half journey in 3/5th time. 
    Then, time taken  to cover half journey = 10 x 3/5
     = 6 hrs. 
    Remaining time = 10 – 6 
     = 4 hrs. 
    Remaining distance = 80 – 40 
     = 40 km

    Then, the speed of a cyclist to cover the remaining distance = 40/4
     = 10 km/hr

    Hence, the correct answer is option (3) 10 km per hour.
