A man can row 6 km/hr. in still water and the river is flowing at 4 km.hr. If the man takes 3/2 hrs to row a place and then back, how far is the place?
(a) 2.5 km.
(b) 2.6 km.
(c) 3.5 km.
(d) 3.6 km.

    Answer: (d) 3.6 km. 

    Solution:-
    Let the distance be X km.

    According to the question,
    X/6 + X/4 = 3/2
    (4 X + 6 X)/24 = 3/2
    10 X/24 = 3/2
    X = 24 x 3/10 x 2
    X = 18/5
    X = 3.6

    Then, he is 3.6 km fro from place.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (d) 3.6 km.
