A rectangular courtyard 3.78 m long and 5.25 m broad is to be paved exactly with square tiles, all of the sam size. The minimum number of such tiles is :

    Answer: (3) 450 

    Explanation:-
    The length of courtyard = 3.78 m = 378 cm
    And, the broad of courtyard = 5.25 m = 525 cm 

    The courtyard is to be paved by square tiles of equal size.
    Therefore, Size of square tile is the HCF of length and breadth as to cover exactly.

    The HCF of 525 and 378 = 21 cm 
    Then, the side of each square tile = 21 cm

    The number of tiles = 525 x 378/21 x 21
     = 450 

    Hence, the correct answer is option (3) 450.
