A room is 12 m long, 9 m wide and 8 m high. What is maximum length of a rod that can kept in the room ?

    Answer: (a) 

    Solution:-
    The length of a room = 12 m
    The wide of a room = 9 m
    The height of a room = 8 m

    Then, the diagonal of a room = sqrt.(122 + 92 + 82)
    = sqrt.(144 + 81 + 64)
    = sqrt. 289
    =17 m

    The maximum length of a rod that can be kept in the room = diagonal of the room = 17 m

    Hence, the correct answer is option (a) 17 m.
