    Answer: (2) 28 years

    Explanation:-

    Let the age of the daughter is X years.
    An average age of a woman and her daughter = 16 years.
    Then, total age of a woman and her daughter = 2 x 16 = 32 years.

    Therefore, the age of her mother = (32 – X) years.

    The ratio of their ages = 7 : 7
    Then, (32 – X)/ X = 7 /1
    32 – X = 7 X
    7 X  + X = 32
    8 X = 32
    X = 32/ 8
    X = 4 years
    Then, the age of her daughter is X = 4 years.
    Therefore, the age of her mother = 32 – X = 32 – 4 = 28 years.
    Then, the age of her mother is 28 years.

    Hence, the answer is (2) 28 years.
