    Answer: (2) Hydrogen

    All acids have hydrogen element as common. It is a first element in the periodic table. Its compounds commonly are called hydrides. It may be produced by reacting metals with acids. 

    It can take a negative charge or a positive charge. It is used in the production of amonia (NH3).
