An athlete in a field which is 600 metres long and 200 metres wide. If he runs five times around the field what is the total distance covered by him?

    Answer: (2) 8 km 

    Solution:-
    The length and wide of a field = 600 metre and  200 metres 
    Then, the perimeters of the filed = 2 (600 + 200) 
     = 2 x 800
     = 1,600 metres 

    The distance covered by athlete in five times around the field = 5 x 1,600
     = 8,000 metres 

    8,000 metres = 8,000/1000 km
     = 8 km

    Hence, the correct answer is option (2) 8 km.
