  1. The electrons have more energy than the light particles
  2. The electron microscope uses more powerful lenses
  3. The wavelength of electrons is smaller as compared to the wavelength of visible light
  4. The velocity of electrons is smaller than that of light

    The Wavelength of Electrons is Smaller as Compared to the Wavelength of Visible Light

    An electron microscope has given higher magnifications than an optical microscope because the wavelength of electrons is smaller as compared to the wavelength of visible light. An electron microscope is a scientific instrument which used a beam of electrons to examine objects on a very fine scale. In other world, an electron microscope is a microscope that uses a beam of accelerated electrons as a source of illuminations.

    The first electromagnetic lens was developed in 1926 by Hans Busch and the first electron microscope prototype was built in 1931 by German engineers Ernst Ruska and Max Knoll. . Electron microscopes are used to investigate the ultrastructure of a wide range of biological and inorganic specimens including microorganisms, cells, large molecules, biopsy samples, metals, and crystals.  The earliest microscopes were known as “flea glasses” because they were used to study small insects. The smallest object observed through a light microscope was 500 nanometers long.
