What will the Area of Field? If

The perimeter of a rectangular field is 640 metres and the ratio between the length and breadth is 3:1. The area of the field is:

    Answer: (1) 19200 sq.m.
    Explanation:-
    Given-
    The perimeter of a rectangular field = 640 m.
    The ratio of length & breadth = 3 : 1
    Then, Let be the length of the rectangle field is 3X and breadth of the rectangle field is X.
    Formula-
    Perimeter of rectangle  = 2 ( length + breadth)
    According to question,
    2 (3X + X) = 640
    2 x 4X = 640
    8X = 640
    X = 640/8
    X = 80 m
    Thus, the length  = 80 x 3 = 240 m  and breadth = 80 m
    Formula-
    Area of rectangle = Length x breadth
    Then, the area of the rectangle field = 240 x 80
    = 19200 sq. m.
    Hence, the answer is (1) 19200 sq.m.
