# What will the Area of Rectangle in sq cm? If

Perimeter of a rectangle is 50cm and the length and the breadth are in the ratio of 3:2 respectively. What is the area of rectangle in sq cm?

- 100 cm
^{2} - 125 cm
^{2} - 150cm
^{2} - None of these

**Answer: (3) 150cm ^{2}**

**Explanation:-**

Let the the length is X m & breadth is 2 X.

The ratio of the length & breadth of a rectangle = 3 : 2

**Formula-**

**Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (l + b)**

**Where, l = length & b = breadth **

Then, 2 ( 3 X + 2 X ) = 50

2 x 5 X = 50

10 X = 50

X = 50 / 10

X = 5 cm

Then, the length of the rectangle is 3 X = 3 x 5 = 15 cm & the breadth is 2 X = 2 x 5 = 10 cm

**Formula-**

**The area of the rectangle = l x b**

Then, the area of the rectangle = 15 x 10

= 150 cm square.

Hence, the area of the rectangle is (3) 150 cm square.
