RE: 'Ashoka Chakra' is Awarded for


Ashoka Chakra is the highest peacetime award of India. It is the equivalent of the Param Veer Chakra. It is awarded for the  ”  The Most Conspicuous Bravery of Self-Sacrifice on Land, Air or Sea away from the Battle Field”.
It medal was originally founded as the Ashoka Chakra on 4th January 1952.
