    Xerophyte

    cactus is referred to as Xerophyte. A xerophyte is a species of plant that has adapted to survive in an environment with little water, such as a desert or an ice or snow-covered region in the Alps or the Arctic.

    Cactus belongs to the family Cactaceae with more than 2000 varieties, which found in different colors, shapes and forms. Cactus generally lives in dry places prone to drought,  such as deserts. The cacuts stems are thickened,  storing water, and the leaves are transformed into spines.
