How Many Days will it Take Them to Complete the Remaining Work ?

16 women take 12 days to complete a work which can be completed by 12 men in 8 days. 16 men started working and after 3 days 10 men left and 4 women joined them. How many days will it take them to complete the remaining work ?

    Explanation:-
    16 women can do complete the work = 12 days
    16 women can do work in a day = 1/12
    1 women can do work in a day = 1/12 x 16 = 1/192

    12 men can do complete the work = 8
    12 men can do work in a day = 1/8
    1 man can do work in a day = 1/8 x 12 = 1/96

    16 men can do work in a day = 1 x 16 /96 = 1/6
    16 men can do work in 3 days = 1 x 3 /6 = 1/2
    After 3 days 10 men left and 4 women joined
    Then,    remaining men = 16 – 10 = 6 men
    6 men and 4 women can do remaining work = 2(6/96 + 4/192)
    = 2(1/16 + 1/48)
    = 2(3  + 1)/48
    = 2 x 4/48 = 1/6
    Thus, 6 men and 4 women can complete the work in 6 days
    Hence, the answer is (2) 6 days
