    The first Sultan of Delhi to issue regular currency and declare Delhi as the capital of his empire was Iltutamish Balban.
    He was the founder of Delhi Sultanate in 1211. He was the third ruler of slave dynasty. He built the Hauz-i-Shamshi near Maharauki in Delhi. He introduced the Iqta system in Delhi Sultanate.
