    In 1950 became the Chairman of the Planning Commission.

    In 1952 Formed new government after the first General Elections

    In 1954, Chou En-lai visited India. A joint statement listing the five principles (Panchasheel) for the regulation of relations between nations was issued.

    In 1960 Addressed the United Nations general assembly in New York.

    In 1961 Non- Alignment movement founded

    In 1962, War with China. Emergency proclaimed.
