What is the Difference in Ratio of Speed? If

Two houses A and B run at a speed of 3:2 ratio in the first lap: during the second lap the ration differs by 4:7 during the third lap the ratio differs by 8:9. What is the difference in ratio of speed altogether between the two horses.

    Answer: (2) 3
    Let be the speed of A  and B in first lap = 3X and 2X
    The speed of A and B in second lap = 4X and 7X
    The speed of A and B in third lap = 8X and 9X
    The total speed of A horse = 3X + 4X + 8X = 15X
    And the total speed of B  = 2X + 7X + 9X  = 18X

    The difference between two A and B =  18X – 15X = 3X
    Hence, the answer is (2) 3.
