    Answer: (1) 5 km

    Explanation:-
    Kailash walks in East direction = 3 km
    He turns in South direction and he walks = 4 km
    Again he turns in West direction and he walks = 6 km

    In the distance makes a right triangle which altitude = 4 km  & base = 3 km
    Hypotenuses = ?

    Formula –
    Hypotenuse = (altitude2 + base2)1/2
    Then, the hypotenuse = (42 + 32)1/2
     = (16 + 9)1/2
    = (25)1/2
    =5 km

    Hence, the distance from the starting point = 5 km
