    Quit India

“Do or Die” associated with the Quit India Movement. On 9 August 1942, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi launched the Quit India Movement. On the night of 8th August 1942 addressing the Congress delegates Mahatma Gandhi gave the Slogan “Do or Die”. The mean of Do or Die is we shall free India or die in the attempt.  You know that Prime Minister of Winston Churchill at that time was pressured by the Americans President Franklin D. Roosevelt to give into Indian demand. The Quit India campaign was effectively crushed.
