    Norman Ernest Borlaug (25 March, 1914 – 12 September 2009) was an American biologist.

    He is known as the father of “Green Revolution”. He was awarded by Nobel Peace Prize in 1970, Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977, Vannevar Bush Award 2000, Public Welfare Medal 2002, National Medical of Science 2004, Congressional Gold Medal 2006. Apart from these, he was also awarded prestigious Padam Vibhushan award ( India’s second highest civilian honor) by Indian government in 2006.

    The whole world gets benefit from his revolutionary work in food sector. He also receives World Food Prize in 1986.
