    Dronacharya is Indian award given to those personalities who give a great contribution in Sports Coaching. Dronacharya award instituted in 1985 by the Government of India. O M Nambiar (Athletics coach) was the first coach received Dronacharya Award in 1985. B I Fenadez was first foreign coach (Cuban Boxing), who won Dronacharya award. The Dronacharya awards will be presented by the President on the Sports Day August 29. Dronacharya Award consists of a bronze statuette of Dronacharya and a cash prize of Rs. 5 lac. As the best sportsperson award is named Arjuna Award.
