An elephant of length 4 m is at one corner of a rectangular cage of size (16 m x 30 m) and faces towards the diagonally opposite corner. If the elephant starts moving towards the diagonally opposite corner it takes 15 seconds to reach this corner. Find the speed of the elephant.

**Explanation:-**

Length of the rectangular park = 30 m

Width of the rectangular park = 16 m

Diagonally length of the park =

Ö(30^{2} + 16^{2})

= Ö(900 + 256)

= Ö1156

= 34 m

Length of the elephant = 4 m

Distance covered by elephant = 34 – 4 = 30 m

Time taken by elephant to cover 30 m distance = 15 sec

Then, speed of the elephant = 30/15 = 2 m/sec

Hence, the answer is (2) 2 m/sec
