What is the Average Age of the Family? If

A family consists of two grandparents, two parents and three children. The average age of the grandparents is 67 years, that of the parents is 35 years and that of the children is 6 years. What is the average age of the family?

    Answer: (2) 31 (5/7) years
    Explanation:-
    The average age of two grandparent = 67 years
    Then, the sum of their age = 67 x 2 = 134 years

    The average age of two parents  = 35 years
    Then, the sum of their age = 2 x 35 = 70 years

    The average age of their three children = 6 years
    Then, the sum of their three children = 6 x 3 = 18 years

    The total age of the all family members = 134  + 70 + 18
    = 222 years
    Then, the average of the family members = 222 / (2 + 2 + 3)
    = 222/7
    = 31 (5/7 ) years

    Then, the average age of all family members is 31 (5/7) years.
    Hence, the answer is (2) 31 (5/7) years.
