    The Little Clay Cart

    Shudrak wrote Mricchakatika, which is famous Sanskrit drama was written in 2nd Century B.C Mricchakatikam literally means The Little Clay Cart. It is an ancient playwright generally thought to have lived sometime between the third century BC and the fifth Century AD. The Play is set in the ancient city of Ujjayni.  The Central story is that of noble but impoverished young Brahmin, Charudatta, who falls in love with a wealthy courtesan.
