    In the Union Budget of 2015-16, the foreign direct investment (FDI) limit of equity in case of insurance companies has been raised to 49 percent.  Finance minister Arun Jetly notified new rules for FDI in the insurance sector allowing 49%  FDI in the cash- strapped sector from 26% allowed supra.
