What will be the Area of Field? If

The diagonal of a quadrilateral shaped field is 24 m and the perpendiculars dropped on it from the remaining opposite vertices are 8 m and 13 m. The area of the field is:

  1. 252m2
  2. 1152m2
  3. 96 m2
  4. 156 m2

RE: What will be the Area of Field? If

The diagonal of a quadrilateral shaped field = 24 m
Then, the area of triangle ABC = 1/2 x BE x AC
    = 1/2 x 13 x 24 = 156 square meter
And, the area of triangle ACD = 1/2 x DF x AC
    = 1/2 x 8 x 24  = 96 square meter
    The total area of a quadrilateral shaped field = 156 + 96 = 252 square meter.
Hence, the answer is (1) 252 square meter.
