Find The Other Parallel Side.

The area of a trapezium shaped field is 480 m2, the height is 15 m and one of the parallel side is 20 m. Find the other parallel side.

    Answer: (1) 44 m
    Explanation:-
    Given-
    The parallel side of a trapezium = 20 m
    Let the another parallel side of a trapezium = X m
    Height of a trapezium = 15 m
    Area of a trapezium = 480 m square
    Formula-
    Area of a trapezium = h (sum of parallel sides)/2
    Where, h = height of a trapezium.
    Then, 480 = 15 x (20 + X)/2
    480  x 2 = 15 x 20 + 15 X
    15 X = 960 – 300
    X = 660/15
    X = 44 m
    Hence, the other parallel side of a trapezium is 44 m.
