Find the Area (in sq.cm) of the Rhombus :

The perimeter of a rhombus is 60 cm and one of its diagonal is 24 cm. The area (in sq.cm) of the rhombus is

    Answer is (3): 216

    The perimeter of a rhombus = 60 cm                  (Given)
    The perimeter of the rhombus = 4 x side of a rhombus
    Then, side of a rhombus = 60/4 = 15 cm

    RE: Find the Area (in sq.cm) of the Rhombus :

    In right angle triangle AOD,
    AO = (152 – 122)1/2
    AO = (225 – 144)1/2
    AO = (81)1/2
    AO = 9 cm

    Then, diagonal AC = 2 x 9 = 18 cm

    Formula-
    The area of the rhombus = First diagonal x second diagonal/2

    Then, the area of the rhombus = 18 x 24/2
     = 18 x 12
     = 216 cm2

    Hence, the answer is (3) 216 cm2.
