If 64 buckets of water are removed from a cubical shaped water tank completely filled with water, 1/3 of the tank remains filled with water. The length of each side of the tank is 1.2 m, Assuming that all buckets are of the same measure, then the volume (in litres) of water contained by each bucket is

Explanation:-
The side of a tank = 1.2 m
Then, the volume of a tank = (1.2)3
= 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.2
= 1.728 m3

Water tank filled with water = 1-1/3 => (3 – 1)/3
= 2/3
The volume of 64 buckets water = 2 x 1.728/3
= 1.152 m3
1m3 = 1000 litres
Therefore, 0.576 m3 = 1.152 x 1000
= 1152 litres

Then, the water contained by buckets = 1152 litres
Therefore, water contained by each bucket = 1152/64
= 18 litres

Then, the volume of (in litres) of water contained by each bucket is 18 litres.

Hence, the answer is (4) 18 litres.
