Find the Total Journey in km :

A car complete a journey in 10 hours. He travels first half of the journey at the rate of 21 km/hr and second half at the rate of 24 km/hr. Find the total journey in km.

    Answer: (2) 224 km

    Explanation:-
    Let the total distance of journey be X km.

    Total time taken by a car to cover a journey = 10 hours
    The speed of car for half journey = 21 km/hr 
    The speed of car for second half journey = 24 km/hr

    Then, X/2 x 21 + X/2 x 24 = 10
    X (24 + 21)/2 x 21 x 24 = 10
    45 X/42 x 24 = 10
    45 X = 10 x 42 x 24
    45 X = 10080
    X = 10080/45
    X = 224 km

    Then, the distance of total journey is 224 km. 

    Hence, the answer is (2) 224 km.
