    Na is the typical element.

    Introduction of Typical elements
The elements of second and third periods of Mendeleef’s modern periodic table are called as ‘Typical elements’ or Representative elements’ as they summarise the properties of their respective groups i.e.; They are the ideal representative of their group. If we study the properties of these elements then we get a generalized view of the properties of other members of the corresponding group.
e.g. – ‘Li’ and ‘Na’ are the Typical elements for Group-‘I’ while ‘Be’ and ‘Mg’ are the Typical elements for Group-‘II’.
