The name of this act was changed as “Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act” in 2005. It is an Indian law and social security. The main aim of this act to guaranty the ‘right to work’. This yojana started with 200 districts on 2nd february 2006. This yojana is  to be implemented by gram panchayats.
It is the best job guaranty scheme of India. This act is designed to provide job for at least 100 days in a year in rural part of the country.
