What will be his Speed? If

A man has to cover a distance of 6 km. in 45 minutes. If he covers one-half of the distance in 2/3rd time, what should be his speed to cover the remaining distance in the remaining time?

    Answer: (1) 12 km/hr
    Explanation:-
    Total distance covered by a man  in 45 minutes = 6 km
    Time = 45 min = 45 /60
    = 3/4 hr

    Then, speed = 6 x 4/3
    = 8 km/ hr

    one – half of distance = 6/2 = 3 km
    2/3 rd of time = 3 x 2 / 4 x 3
    = 1/2  hr
    Remaining time = 3/4 – 1/2
    = (3 – 2)/4
    = 1/4 hr
    Remaining distance = 6 – 3 = 3 km
    Speed  = 3  x 4/1
    = 12 km/hr
    Hence, the answer is (1) 12 km/hr
