    According to Indian Public Health Standards for District Hospitals, every district having a population of 10 lakhs should have 300 beds. 

    District health system (DHS) is the point of origin for implementing various health policies. District hospital is an integral part of the District Health System. 

    N R H M (Nationl Rural Health Missoin was launched by Prime Minister of India in 2005.
