Hydrogen was discovered by Henry Cavendish (10 October 1731 – 24 February 1810) was a British natural philosopher, scientist, and an important experimental and theoretical chemist and physicist.  He was the first to recognize hydrogen gas as a distinct substance for which he calculated their densities as well as the densities of several other gases.
