If 3 (5x – 7) – 4 (8x – 13) = 2 (9x – 11) – 17, then the value of (7 x – 5)/(11 x – 9) is

(a) -14/31
(b) -9/13
(c) 9/13

    Answer: (c) 9/13

    Solution:-
    3 (5 x – 7) – 4 (8 x – 13) = 2 (9 x – 11) – 17
    15 x – 21 – 32 x + 52 = 18 x – 22 – 17
    – 17 x + 31 = 18 x – 39
    18 x + 17 x = 31 + 39
    35 x = 70
    x = 70/35
    x = 2

    Then, the value of (7 x – 5)/(11 x -9)
    Put the value of x = 2
    Then, (7 x 2 – 5)/(11 x 2 – 9)
    = (14 – 5)/(22 – 9)
    = 9/13

    Then,  the value of (7 x – 5)/(11 x -9) is 9/13.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (c) 9/13.
