    Answer: (a) 12√3 sq. cm

    Solution:-
    One side of an equilateral triangle = 4 √3 cm 

    Formula-
    The area of an equilateral triangle = √3 x (Side)^2/4

    Then, the area of an equilateral triangle = √3 . (4 √3)^2/4
     = 4 x 4 x 3 x √3/4
     = 12 √3 sq. cm

    Hence, the correct answer is option (a) 12√3 sq. cm.
