    Answer:  (a) (a^2 + 4 a + 4) square unit

    Solution:-
    The perimeter of a square = 4 a + 8
Then, the side of the square = a + 2

    So, the area of square = (a + 2) (a + 2)
     = a^2 + 2 a + 2 x + 2 x 2
     = a^2 + 4 a + 4

Then, the area of the square is (a^2 + 4 a + 4) square unit.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (a) (a^2 + 4 a + 4) square unit.
