    Answer: (a) 5 

    Solution:-
    (X – a) is a factor of X^2 – 7 X + 2 a
    Then, X – a = 0 
    Put the value of X = a

    Then, a^2 – 7 a + 2 a = 0 
    a^2 – 5 a = 0 
    a (a – 5) = 0 
    a – 5 = 0 
    a = 5

    Then, the value of a is 5. 

    Hence, the correct answer is option (a) 5.
