In a group of people 72% drink coffee, 44% drink If each person drinks coffee or tea and if there are 40 persons who drink both then the number of people in the group is

    Answer: (1) 250

    Solution:-
    Percentage of people who drink coffee = 72%
    Percentage of people who drink tea = 44%
    Then, percentage of people who drink both coffee and tea = (72 + 44) – 100
    = 116 – 100
    = 16%

    Let the number people of in a group be X
    Then, the number of people who drink both coffee and tea = 40
    Then, X x 16/100 = 40
    4 X/25 = 40
    4 X = 40 x 25
    X = 250

    Then, the number of people in the group is 250.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (1) 250.
