    Answer: (2) 20 years
    Explanation:-
    Given-
    R = 10 % , S I = 3 P – P = 2 P   & T = ?
    Formula-
    Simple Interest = P x R x T/100
    where, P – principal,  R – rate, T – time  S I = Simple Interest

    Then,
    2 P = P x 10 x T/100
    2 = T/10
    T = 2 x 10
    T = 20 years

    Hence, In 20  years, a sum will be thrice of it at the rate of 10% per annum.
