    Kisan Vikas Patra first launched in 1988 by the India Post. It is a Saving certificate scheme. Shayamla Gopinath committee gave its recommendation to the Government of India that KVP could be misused. So, Government decided to shut this scheme and finally KVP was closed in 2011. In 2014, when New Government formed then this scheme relaunched.

    Kisan Vikas Patra certificates are available in the denominations of Rs. 1000, Rs. 5000, Rs. 10000 and Rs.50000. there is no upper limit. The minimum amount that can be invested is Rs.1000.  This certificate can be purchased by, An adult in his own name, or on behalf of a minor, A Trust, Two adults jointly.
