    There are two type of vena cava first is superior vena cava which returns blood to the heart from the head, neck and both upper limbs and second is inferior vena cava which returns blood to the heart from the lower part of body.

    Superior Vana Cava is located in the middle of the chest and surrounded by rigid structures and lymph nodes. Inferior vena cava is located to right of the mid line, drainage of the tributaries is not always symmetrical.
