    The Rusting of Metal Iron in air needs both Oxygen and moisture. Rust occurs when iron water and oxygen mix together that known as oxidation. Iron is a chemical element which have a symbol is Fe with the atomic number 26. Iron is the 6th most common element found in the Univers.

    Rust is a chemical reaction. The oxidation makes the metal weak. There is certain factor that can speed up the rusting process. Salt speeds up the chemical reaction and the rusting process and acid rain can help speed up the rusting process too.   The prevent rust, metal can be coated to prevent its reaction with oxygen and water. Zinc layer helps to inhibit the iron down from reacting with oxygen and water to form rust.
