Jatindra Nath Das well known as Jatin Das (27 October 1904 – 13 September 1929). Jatin Das died in Lahore Jail after a 63-day hunger walkout at the aged of 24. Jatindra Nath Das was an Indian freedom fighter and revolutionary.
On June 14, 1929, Jatin was arrested in Calcutta for revolutionary activities. He was named as one of the accused in what came to be known as Supplementary Lahore Conspiracy Case and was transferred to the Lahore Jail.
In Jail Jatin Das began hunger strike along with other revolutionary fighters, because there in protest against the inhumna treatment of political undertrials and prisoners by the British authorities. The Condition of the British prisoners in the same jail was strikingly different. On 15 June 1929 Jatin Das Start his ‘Hunger Strike’. Sustained by his sense of discipline and determination, Jatin Das waged a superhuman struggle against the might of the government and persisted with his hunger strike. Hunger Strike end after 63 days with the Death of Jatin Das. After the death of Jatin Das five hunger strikers gave up their hunger strike, Only Bhagat Singh and Dutt were on Strike.
