    Kabir was the disciple pf Ramananda. Kabir was a great poet. He is known for critical of Both Hinduism and Islam. The name Kabir comes from Arabic which means “The Great”. He was born in Lehartara  near the Kashi (Uttar Pradesh) in 1380 or 1440 CE. Kabir played the role of a teacher and social reformer by the medium of his writings. Kabir had a strong belief in Vedanta, Sufism, Vaishnavism and Nath Sampradaya.

    Kabir had been growing up by the very poor family of Muslim weavers Niru and Nima, Vaishnava Swami Ramananda accepted Kabir as his disciple. You know that In starting Ramananda was not agreeing to accept Kabir as his disciple. Once upon a time, Kabir had the lie down on the ladders of the pond and reading the mantra of
    Rama-Rama, in the early morning Ramananda was going for taking bath and Kabir come down below his feet. Ramananda felt guilty for that activity and then Ramananda was forced to accept him as his disciple. 

    Kabir Das is also best known for his Dohas, Some Dohas are given below

    माटी कहे कुम्हार से, तू क्या रौंदे मोये |
    एक दिन ऐसा आएगा, मैं रौंदूगी तोय ||

    बड़ा हुआ तो क्या हुआ, जैसे पेड़ खजूर |
    पंथी को छाया नहीं, फल लागे अति दूर ||

    बुरा जो देखने में चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय |
    जो दिल खोजा आपना, मुझसे बुरा न कोय ||
