    Kuroshio Current

    The largest current, because of its dark waters is known as the “black Current” and that is Kuroshio current. Kuroshio Current is the oceanic surface current that flows northwards from Philippines. The Kuroshio is a warm current flowing in a northeasterly direction along Japan’s east coast.  It is about 100 kilometers (km) wide, and it has an average speed of 3 to 4 knots.
