What will be the Length of Train? If

A 270 metres long train running at the speed of 120 km/hr crosses another train running in the opposite direction at the speed of 80 km/hr in 9 seconds. What is the length of the other train?

    Answer: (4) 230 m
    Explanation:-
    Let be the length of  the other train = X m
    The speed of the train = 120 km/hr
    Speed in m/sec = 120 x 5/18
    = 100/3 m / sec
    The length of the train = 270 m

    The speed of other train = 80 kn/hr
    Speed in m/sec = 80 x 5/18
    = 200/9 m/sec
    According to the question,
    (270 + X)/(100/3 +  200/9)  = 9
    (270 + X) x 9 /500 = 9
    270 + X = 9 x 500/9
    270 + X = 500
    X  = 500 – 270
    X = 230 m
    Hence, the answer is (4) 230 m.
