    First Administrative Reforms Committee

First Administrative Reforms Committee report recommended the establishment fo the institution of Lokpal and Lokayukta. The Lokpal Act 2013 is an anti-corruption Act of Indian Parliament in India also known as The Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act. This act extends to the whole of India, including Jammu and Kashmir.
The basic idea of the Lokpal is borrowed from the office of ombudsman, which has played an effective role in checking corruption and wrongdoing in Scandinavian and other nations.

The term “Lokpal ” was coined by Dr. L.M. Singhvi in 1963. The bill was passed on 27 December 2011 as The Lokpal and Lokayuktas bill 2011.
