There are two containers of equal capacity. The ratio of milk to water in the first container is 3:1, in the second container 5:2. If they are mixed up, the ratio of milk to water in the mixture will be

    Answer: (4) 41 : 15
    Explanation:-
    The ratio of milk to water in first container = 3 : 1
    Then, the part of the milk in first container = 3/4
    And the part of water in first container = 1/4

    The ratio of milk to water in second container = 5 : 2
    Then, the part of the milk in second container = 5/7
    And the part pf the in second container = 2/7

    Both containers are mixed up,
    Then, the ratio of milk to water = ( 3/4 + 5/7) : (1/4 + 2/7)
    = (21 + 20)/28 : (7 + 8)/28
    = 41 x 28/15 x 28
    = 41 : 15
    Hence, the answer is (4) 41 : 15.
